Question:

I have a couple coming into my office that would like my help with Medicare. Do I have to run both individuals through i65 or can I just do one RoadMap?

FOR CONSULTATIONS: Do I have to order a consultation for each spouse?

Answer:

FOR I65 SOFTWARE:

Unfortunately, the answer is that it depends on the individual clients.

The first step when preparing to create an i65 RoadMap for a client is to run a Needs Assessment (read "What is a Needs Assessment?"). If both spouses answer the questions of the Needs Assessment similarly, you could potentially run just one RoadMap.

However, be sure to note that the Initial Enrollment period calendar, special enrollment period calculation, and the step-by-step Medicare enrollment instructions may not be accurate for both spouses.

If the clients have different answers in the Needs Assessment and/or have different health or travel needs, it's much safer to run separate RoadMaps for each spouse.

FOR CONSULTATIONS:

Like the i65 software, the answer is that it depends on the individual clients.

If both spouses have the same medical needs, medications, physicians, health needs and lifestyle, you can try one consultation for both spouses. However, please know that only one spouse will get a RoadMap report with specific plan recommendations.

If the spouses take different medications, see different physicians, live in different places, have different health concerns, etc., their Medicare decisions and plan choices could be wildly different.

If you opt for a consultation for just one spouse, be aware that you may need to order an additional service for the other spouse at a later time.
